Lab-grown diamonds are physically, optically and chemically similar to mined diamonds but they are both
produced differently. Mined diamonds are formed deep in the earth’s crust over millions of years while lab
grown diamonds are created within weeks using cutting edge technology.
The two methods used to produce lab grown are - CVD and HPHT. Chemical Vapor Deposition (CVD) creates
diamonds using low pressure and high temperature in a diamond chamber and High Pressure High Temperature
(HPHT) mimics the conditions of the Earth on a diamond seed. Both methods use a controlled environment and
are produced within the confines of a laboratory.
